TINY TIM AUXILIARY About Children’s Crisis Center

About Children’s Crisis Center

The Children’s Crisis Center has opened its doors to protect and care for local children impacted by family conflict, abuse and neglect for over 38 years.  As a refuge that safeguards children from troubled families, the Children’s Crisis Center currently serves Stanislaus County with five homes that yield immediate shelter to local children of all ages.

In our community, the need to shield children from abusive families exceeds the availability of resources.  In response, the Children’s Crisis Center partnered with the Tiny Tim Auxiliary to open its fifth site, Audrey’s House, in October 2017.  This shelter, named after Audrey Duerner, the founder of the Tiny Tim Auxiliary, offers a refuge to these defenseless children.  Children birth to 6 years of age are welcomed into the home where they receive safety, solace and compassionate care.  These children also receive nutritious meals, clean clothing, emotional support and comfort, along with medical screenings, crisis counseling, and developmental assessments.

The Children’s Crisis Center offers comfort and counseling to parents’ in need of a hand when life is not easy.  The video below contains some amazing parent testimonials that highlight the life-changing support offered to them in a time of need.

In the months that have passed since the opening of Audrey’s House, the home has been filled to capacity with young children residing in Modesto and living in families that are high-risk for abuse, neglect and disadvantaged by poverty, housing insecurities and family crisis.  It is through the continued support of the Tiny Tim Auxiliary and its supporters that these vulnerable children have a place to feel safe, secure and loved.

Thank you for supporting this valuable community program.
