Tiny Tim was founded in 1954 by Audrey and Chuck Duerner who adopted two children through Children’s Home Society and were asked to organize an auxiliary in Modesto.  For over 60 years, Tiny Tim members sold Christmas cards and fireworks, held bridge tournaments, hosted bus trips, boutiques and luncheons to raise money for Children’s Home Society.  In 2014, the Children’s Home Society disbanded all their auxiliaries throughout California.  As a result, the Tiny Tim’ers  went on a quest to find an organization that would perfectly fit our child-focused philosophy.  We found our perfect match in the Children’s Crisis Center of Stanislaus County.

Tiny Tim dedicates 100% of its fundraising efforts to support the Children’s Crisis Center, and recently, to honor Tiny Tim’s efforts, we were asked to name the newest Children’s Crisis Center home.  We happily named this home after our founder  — Audrey Duerner.  “Audrey’s House” opened in November of 2017 and, since then, the home has been filled to capacity with young children residing in Modesto and living in families that are at high risk for abuse, neglect and disadvantaged by poverty, housing insecurities and family crisis.  We are proud to support the Children’s Crisis Center and their efforts to give these vulnerable children a place to feel safe, secure and loved.
